Porsche was staying 8 miles from home with his family following Superstorm Sandy when he went missing last November. On Wednesday he returned home.

Porsche lives with Uranie Roberts and her grown daughter Carol Baumann on the water in the Chadwick Beach Island section of Toms River, NJ. The family was evacuated by boat after Superstorm Sandy and went to stay with relatives living 8 miles away.  Porsche slipped out of the house and went missing, and was not seen again by those who know him until this past Wednesday, when Carol heard a familiar meow and saw a familiar pair of green eyes at the back door of her home.

“I saw the green eyes and I said, ‘My God in heaven, it’s Porsche!’” Carol Baumann said.

“It’s just amazing how he found his way home,” said Carol. “I wish he could talk.”

Porsche will be checked out at the vet next week, but he appears too be in good condition. His fur is soft and sleek and he looks as though he was been eating well.

“It’s wonderful,” said Carol. “I missed him so bad.”
