If you love cats and fashion, then New York was the place to be this week. The Fresh Step Feline Fashion Lounge and Adoption Event took place on Saturday, September 10th, and combined both cat-inspired fashion styles and cat adoption. Could you beat that?

The fashion show was part of Fresh Step’s debut of its Hot to Adopt™ campaign. The campaign seeks to celebrate the love of cats, break down barriers in adoption, and help shelter cats find homes. The fashion show included the debut of a limited edition #hot2adopt t-shirt. Proceeds of the shirt’s sales will benefit partner shelters.

So what styles were up on the runway? Anything cat-related, including leopard print, cat eye glasses, kitten heels, and more. The show celebrated cat-inspired style, driving home the fact that it’s always hot to adopt and battling the crazy cat lady stigma, which so often stereotypes single female cat owners.

Though the fashion show has concluded, the Hot to Adopt campaign is far from over. Fresh Step has declared that Fridays through October are “Feline Fashion Fridays.” Each Friday, cat owners are encouraged to show off their style and post a photo to Instagram using the hashtag #freshstepcontest. Winners can take home Fresh Step cat litter, a $250 gift card, and even a #hot2adopt t-shirt.
