Rey doesn’t let being blind stand in her way. In fact, she can stand proudly as a reminder to one and all that both people and animals are most often only limited by those around them, not by themselves.

Rey and sister Leia, were adopted by Alex who found the pair at a Chicago-area agency. Rey’s records indicated that her eye sockets had been closed to prevent any future infections, but that didn’t keep Alex from bringing the ginger siblings home. He told Petcha, ““I love cats and was planning on moving into my own place soon after … I thought having some companions would be helpful for me. I was also very curious about how a blind cat would navigate and interact with the world. I love psychology and helping animals have great lives so I’d say those played big roles in my decision.”
Rey keeps people up to date on her antics with her sister via her Instagram page, reythekitten, or at Facebook, continuing to remind one and all that a challenge is only what other people make it.
