Blaze was seriously burned in the house fire that destroyed the mobile home where he lived and killed several other pets. The cat’s owner was also injured and couldn’t afford to pay for Blaze’s medical expenses after she lost everything in the fire, so he was turned over to Sacramento County, CA Animal Care shelter.
Veterinary staff caring for Blaze have been charmed by the loving cat and say he will make someone an excellent companion when he is well recovered enough to be put up for adoption, which they think may be as early as next month.
Contrary to the information in the news report below, shelter staff say the cat’s name was Blaze before the fire.
We get to see Blaze looking fairly well recovered from his burn injuries, although still wearing a protective cone, in the video below.
GIVE THE POOR LADY HER CAT BACK! The poor baby has been through enough not to be able to go home to his MOMMY!! What more does the poor thing have to endure? Let him go home……………It’s the RIGHT thing to do.
