Just imagine how it must feel to lose your best friend…and then see him again three years later? Overjoyed might begin to explain the emotion five-year-old Claudia Arnold felt when seeing her buddy again after being gone far too long.
Kara, Claudia’s mother, shared with CTV News that Cursor, had been a rescue from the British Columbia (BC) SPCA. She was pregnant with Claudia at the time, and when the baby was born, the pair became instantly bonded. Kara suspects that someone took him, as he had a very friendly nature and was constantly about the neighborhood making friends.
“Mommy and me went in the car when I was one and we went searching for him everywhere,” Claudia said. “I thought I lost him forever. I missed him so much then I kept crying every day.”
Kara received notification that he had been found and was being held at the SPCA in Nanaimo and bundled up Claudia, who didn’t know why or where they were going for a ride, to get Cursor. When they arrived, the reunion was captured on video.
The BC SPCA shared this story with the hope of reminding anyone with pets the importance of making sure they can be identified. As they say on their website, “Pets can’t tell us where they live. It’s up to you to provide your pet with identification.”
What a beautiful thing to have your long losat cat back hone again after 5 years!! A BLESSING AND A MIRACLE!!! Too many people don’t really try hard enough to look for their animals that have escaped the house or have been taken!!! It really gets me sick!! And of course micro chipping and a collar are a must!!
