Andrea, the Utah cat who lived through two gas chamber shelter killing attempts, is doing well and may be headed to a forever home soon.
CAWS (Community Animal Welfare Society), the rescue organization caring for Andrea, had concerns about organ and neurological damage from her two trips to the killing chamber, plus her time sitting in the freezer in a plastic bag. She walked with a wobble at first after being pulled from the freezer and granted a pardon.
Foster caregiver Janita Coombs says a second visit to a veterinarian showed Andrea’s blood results and urinalysis “mostly normal.” The foster mom also says, “She is happy, loving and doing very well”, and the search for a forever home may come very soon. There is a long list of people who have asked to adopt Andrea. CAWS will likely rehome her with someone who has adopted from them before or is otherwise associated with the organization.
