Rescue dogs aren’t just in need of rescuing, themselves. Some of them rescue others, too.

At least, that’s what Leopard, a rescue dog currently available for adoption, did. Leopard lives at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter in Valley View, Ohio. But Leopard isn’t just waiting around to be rescued. He’s also doing some rescuing of his own.

When Leopard was out for a walk with a volunteer this past Monday, he suddenly stopped in front of a sewer grate. Leopard laid down and refused to move. When the volunteer came over to see what was wrong, she heard a whimpering from the grate and discovered that a kitten was stuck in the sewer.

Thanks to Leopard alerting the volunteer to the kitten’s presence, the kitten was rescued by deputies and volunteers. The kitten went home with one of the shelter’s volunteers, and is safe and sound.
