The subjects from different stories in our archive collide tonight, and we could not be sorrier. Oscar Flecha’s shooter, who pled, was sentenced today. The sentence was weak and light, and it unfortunately inflicts the shooter on Hillside SPCA, which cared for Iris and Whitney, for community service.
When we first saw the headline “man admits shooting cat with crossbow” we did not dream that the cat was Oscar Flecha, the sweet kitty of Paul Flecha and Amy Fisher, yet it was. Oscar’s family and his many supporters have waited and wished for the day his assailant was found guilty; now the man has admitted his guilt and will avoid trial. Sentencing is August 2.
Thanks to public outcry, Paul Canfield, who pled guilty to animal cruelty for shooting a cat named Oscar Flecha with a crossbow and arrow has been pulled from doing community service at two PA shelters who were not consulted about having him and did not want his services.
