The story of Kami and her kittens, rescued from an industrial site and now in foster care, continues.

Last week we shared a vlog video blog post from Doug Brown, who fosters kittens and their mamas for VOKRA, the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association, of Vancouuver, Canada.

The first post introduced  a very shy mama kitty named Kami, who, along with her six kittens, has come to stay with Doug and his wife Sharon. Kami and her babies were rescued from an industrial site – the sandblasting area of  machine shop. You can watch the introductory post from July 6 here: Kami & Her Kittens.

Since the 6th, Dog has followed up with three more vlog posts on the kittens. We are sharing the second post here, and will share the others in the coming days and bring the story up to date.

In this vlog, filmed the 7th and uploaded online on the 9th, Kami is still shy of her experienced, caring and gentle foster petparents, and feels the need to move her kittens and nurse them in hidden away spots. In coming posts, we will see Kami’s gradual transformation as she learns to relax and trust.

Doug’s introduction to Kami The Kitten-napping Mama Cat reads: “Though some people might find some of the footage in this video a bit upsetting I decided to share it as it shows that even if you think you have completely kitten proofed your house by making it as safe as possible for them they will always find a way to thwart your efforts. This is our 6th time at fostering a rescued cat family and we have never had a mama cat work this hard at hiding her kittens, luckily for us it only lasted one day! Kami has settled down quite a bit and has not tried to move her kittens again, not yet anyway! The kittens are all healthy and happy and growing nicely and in the next vlog you will see how comfortable Kami has become in our home.”
