Christina Carroll of Littlestown, PA, is still experience nightmares over the tiger striped cat she named “Faith.” She had taken the cat to the Penn Township Fire Department to have a tightly-wound electrical wire removed from around her neck before getting emergency treatment at Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter in neighboring Hanover. Faith had, among other things, a fractured skull, the likely result of being hit in the head repeatedly by a hammer or something of a similar nature. Sadly, due to the severity of her injuries, she was put to sleep.
The Defense of Animals organization out of California is offering the $2500 reward. Dr. Elliot M. Katz, the founder of the group and a retired veterinarian, stated the group was offering the reward because the same individual who will abuse an animal will abuse others; children, significant others, partners, the elderly. The York County SPCA is highly appreciative of the support and encourages anyone with information to come forward so that no other animals have to suffer Faith’s horrible fate.
In a news release published on pennlive.com, Carroll stated, “I just want justice to be done for her. I want someone who has seen something or heard something to come forward.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Nicole Lawrence, Humane Society Police Officer , 717-764 6109 ext.127.
