When a young boy and his friends found a kitten in the laundry room of their apartment, they were not expecting to see she was missing three paws. Hairbands had been wrapped so tightly on her legs the blood flow had been cut off, resulting in the loss.

“We saw a cat lying down. We didn’t know what was wrong with it,” said Brady, the boy who found the kitten, now named Pogo, told KTRK. “We saw the feet. There was nothing there but bones.”

The 14 week old kitten came under the care of Dr. Max Heimlich who shared, “This is the worst. The absolute worst I’ve ever seen. This is not neglect. This abuse, physical abuse.”

The veterinarian feels confident the kitten will come through this horrible ordeal. She is walking without pain, fever free, and is eating well.  And Pogo already has found a new home. She will be going home with Dr. Heimlich.
