If anyone ever doubted the power of social media, they need only hear the story of Freddie to realize that even in a society that doesn’t spend as much time face-to-face as years past, people still come together to help for a good cause when the call goes out, regardless of the method.  In this case, it was a seven-year-old blind cat who spurred a small movement that ultimately saved his life.

According to The Grimsby Telegraph, followers of the Facebook page, Cats Lost & Found Rescue Grimsby, banded together when they learned of the kitty’s plight.  While individuals had gone out looking for him, the woman behind the Facebook page, Fiona Bradley, thought that perhaps, en masse, they would be able to bring their efforts together.  The result? “Freddie was greeted by the whole team when he arrived home, receiving a round of applause as he was handed back to his owner. She is over the moon to have her friend back and he is now recovering quietly at home with a tasty bowl of food and a warm sofa.”
Sometimes it is amazing what can be accomplished when we all work together.  Just ask Freddie.
