Hurricane Matthew had devastating effects on multiple states, including North and South Carolina. One kitten was rescued from the hurricane in Raleigh, North Carolina, and was brought in to Petsmart’s Banfield Pet Hospital.

The kitten was so tiny that he was given a jumper made out of a sock. Twitter user @crysomemore saw the kitten when she went in to buy supplies, took photos, and posted them to Twitter. They’ve since gone viral, and with good reason – the kitten is absolutely adorable.

This story has a positive ending, too. When a man and his children came into the store looking for a cat to adopt, they saw the kitten and decided to give him a new home. From being homeless in Hurricane Matthew to having a home of his own, life has changed rapidly for this little kitten over the course of a week.

It is likely that more animals will be left homeless after the hurricane. Be sure to keep an eye out about ways that you can help, whether it’s sending supplies to shelters in need or adopting animals in need of new homes.
