Duchess’ is a happily ever after and then some story. Found as a badly injured stray with extreme damage to her face, the cat, who was determined to be about 3-years old, was at first considered for euthanasia. However, the staff at the Adobe Animal Hospital and Clinic in El Paso, Texas saw something special in the malnourished, scar-covered feline.
In an article on PetMD, Bryan Meyer, DVM, said, “Something about her instantly tugged on our heartstrings. She would constantly purr, look at us with those crossed eyes, and rubbed up on everyone so lovingly; even with the pain she was in.” Duchess went through a first surgery for a critically broken and dislocated jaw and, about a month later, a second to remove some teeth that were causing problems. Even with all these challenges, she remained loving, working toward getting stronger with every passing day.
