Sometimes friendship occurs in the most unexpected places. And at the Farm Animal Rescue of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, you can see quite the unusual friendship between a llama and a cat.
Rosie, a 6-year-old cat, and Sparkle, a llama who is between 8 and 10 years old, have forged quite the friendship. The two became quite close at their previous home before they were adopted by the Farm Animal Rescue. Sparkle’s previous owner asked the Farm Animal Rescue to take in all of their 10 llamas, then requested that Rosie go along too because of her attachment to Sparkle.
Rosie and Sparkle nuzzle each other daily. During the winter, Rosie lies on Sparkle’s back. Sparkle herself is quite friendly, enjoying human attention and coming when she’s called. Since Rosie and Sparkle’s unusual bond has become quite apparent, the owners of the Farm Animal Rescue, Roy and Lorie Hernesh, have taken to capturing photos and videos of the curious pair.
