When Oliver arrived at the RSPCA center in Finsbury Park, London, he was severely overweight. Weighing in at 22 pounds, the tabby cat needed to go on a weight loss program in order to safely undergo the surgery required to fix one of his ears.

Oliver had been surrendered by an elderly woman who could no longer care for him. The cat was placed in a foster home and followed an exercise plan along with a low-calorie food restriction. With this weight loss plan, Oliver managed to lose a third of his body weight, leaving him healthier and happier.

Now, Oliver is ready to find his next home. If you live in London, you might be able to give Oliver the home that he needs.

Being overweight can cause serious health conditions for cats. Overweight cats can be at risk for heart issues, joint issues, and respiratory problems. In order to keep your cat from getting too heavy, make sure that you encourage him to play and exercise, and feed him only as much food as he needs.
