Their essence is ineffable. But we humans still try to put into words the way we feel about cats–those mysterious creatures who make us say “aww” one minute and fill us with awe the next. Cats comfort us, confound us and distract us. They have taught us what it means to be a cool cat, a fat cat and a sourpuss. Many of the greatest writers and thinkers have lived with cats, admired them and been inspired by them.
