Rosie: Rescued kitten and Husky are best friends
.

Lilo the Siberian husky is a wonderful friend and surrogate mama to her family’s kitten, Rosie, who was taken in as a foster earlier this year. Rosie was really lethargic and unresponsive after her first night with the family, so they decided to let her cuddle extensively with Lilo, one of their huskies. Lilo has always had an innate motherly instinct, but she really surprised her family when she went full surrogate mode.

Rosie became tightly bonded with Lilo and the rest of the family’s husky pack, and wants to be one of the gang, even happily going for long walks with the pack while wearing a harness and leash.

Little Rosie was taken in  by California sisters Thi Bui, Thoa Bui, and Tram Bui when she was rescued after being found abandoned and living on the street.

Thi Bui said: “The first night we got Rosie, she seemed OK but then her health went downhill all of a sudden – she rejected food and wouldn’t lift her head anymore.

“Her eyes became infected and closed. We were providing all the human care we could, but we realized she needed a mother so we paired her with Lilo, one of our huskies.

“Amazingly, Lilo took on the motherhood role instantly, which was surprising because she has no pups of her own and was spayed the week before we got the kitten.

“Rosie’s health improved dramatically thanks to Lilo who has raised her as one of her own – so she’s growing up thinking she’s a husky now and she even goes on walks with them.”

Rosie and Lilo’s friendship is chronicled online at Lilo the Husky at Instagram.

Two cute videos show Rosie and her surrogate mama and BFF.
