Luvly was a permanent resident and mascot at Shropshire Cat Rescue Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK. He had a tough start in life but blossomed into a very happy fellow and a little star.  Luvly sadly passed away in December 2013, and he is remembered in a sweet and beautiful tribute video.

Luvly was found as a stray many years ago and in a really bad way. Fortunately Luvly went on to live at the Shropshire Cat Rescue shelter and became a very happy member of their cat family.

Luvly was found on the edge of a road in a terrible state. Luvly was blind. One of his eyes was filled with puss and the other was blank with a film of infection covering it. He was full of cat flu. He had fallen into a slurry pit which suggested that he may have been a farm cat. He stank of cow poo and it was difficult to tell what color he actually was. His front left paw was deformed, his mouth was also deformed, he was suffering with dehydration and starvation and was covered in lice and full of worms and was an unneutered tom.

Luvly was a fighter during his recovery, and he continued to make steady progress. He had his left eye removed and the other eye cleaned up. He was neutered and his stained fur eventually grew out.

Luvly returned to the shelter where he continued to receive lots of love and attention; he was incredibly friendly and very brave and staff and visitors loved him to bits.

With great sadness, Shropshire Cat Rescue reported the passing of Luvly, who died of kidney failure on the evening of Saturday the 14th of December 2013. A wonderful character, Luvly left a lasting impression on everyone who met him. He will continue to be missed greatly by everyone at Shropshire Cat Rescue.

Poor Luvly is seen in a very short video in the terrible state he was in when found. The transformation between this pathetic little mewing creature and the cat Luvly became is heartwarming and amazing.
