Toronto firefighters rescued a family’s two cats and gave them oxygen at the scene when a fire broke out at their home.

Toronto, ON firefighters rescued a family’s two cats and gave them oxygen at the scene when a fire broke out at their home on July 20.

The fire broke out in the kitchen of the family’s basement apartment in the west end of the city early that Saturday evening. Fire crews arrived around 7:30 and quickly extinguished the blaze.

The apartment had filled with thick smoke, so the cats needed to receive oxygen once they were carried outside.

As can be seen the photo below. The crew had pet oxygen masks on hand for the rescue.
