Carrie Hawks is rescuer and petmom to miracle kitty Anakin, born without a pelvis or hind legs, who was rescued when Carrie found him as a small kitten coming to eat at a feeding station. Anakin is in good health, despite his condition, and leads a full and normal life.

Now Carrie has adopted another special boy, Mika, who she rescued from a Texas shelter and brought to her Florida home. The video below introduces Mika to us as we see his introduction to his new household and furry siblings.

Carrie writes:
“Meet Mika! Anakin’s New Brother from another Mother! We rescued Mika from a Texas shelter. Mika is a special kitty just like Anakin. Mika has about 1/2 of a tail. He has all of one [hind] leg except for the actual foot part where the pads and toes would be, and his other [hind] leg stops a little ways past his knee and just rounds off at the end. They say he was born this way. We are looking into getting Mika a prosthetic foot so he will be able to walk easier.

“Mika is a super friendly sweet cat and has already made him self at him with Anakin and The Gang. Like Anakin, we will be giving Mika the absolute best possible home, love and care.”

Carrie adopted Mika with the help of Texoma Pets Alive and Friends of Arlington (TX) Animal Services (FAAS). Mika’s rescue, transport, homecoming and medical evaluation are all chronicled, with lots of photos, at the Anakin the Two Legged Miracle Cat Facebook page.
