Milwaukee, WI resident Kate Anderson, professionally known as Kate Funk, has found a niche as a cat photographer through a chain of events that turned a hobby into a professional endeavor.

A birthday card for a friend that featured a photo of Kate’s 7 year old cat AC caught the attention of a stationary store. The card led to a line of greeting cards, then calendars, and now Kate is a cat photographer with a book deal.

“When people ask me what I do, it’s always weird to tell them I’m a cat photographer,” Kate said when asked about her work.

Kate devises scenarios then creates costumes and sets before her photo sessions with AC.
