Found Animals Microchip Registry is a free nonprofit service dedicated to reuniting lost pets and their families.

The registry was developed to help bring lost pets back home to their families. With many shelters often filled to capacity, time is of the essence in saving animals’ lives. The new system speeds up and streamlines the owner notification process when a pet is scanned. withing minutes of the scan, owners receive notification by text, email and phone calls.

The registry is run by the privately funded Found Animals Foundation. The program is now available in California and is expected to expand nationwide. For more information, see the Found Animals Microchip Registry site. The site provides information for owners, rescues and shelters.
