Thanks to the persistence of lost and found networkers, a Bastrop TX cat and her family are together again for the first time since devastating wildfires destroyed their house last Labor Day weekend.

Denise Edwards and her husband lost their home in the terrible wildfire that seept into Bastrop TX over Labor day weekend in 2011, and lingered for a few days. The family’s four cats were initially on their own afterward, then three of the cats came back and rejoined the family.  Five month old Lucy didn’t come back. Denise did everything right, checking in with the shelter and going online. After a few false leads she began to give up hope, but that changed last week with an email from Wildfire Pet Rescue, which has a presence on Facebook as Lost and Found Pets From Texas Wildfires. Lucy was found and is now back with her family again. The group is thrilled to have helped bring Lucy home.
