Things are looking up for a little kitten rescued by a Grandview, MO police officer.

Grandview police officer Aaron Carter set to work after being flagged down by a citizen who reported the kitten being trapped nder the hood of a car.

Officer Carter spent a half hour freeing the kitten from the car’s engine, with help from a couple of firemen.

The kitten was taken to Wayside Waifs. Shelter staff said the kitten was not injured but “smelled like a mechanic.” He is not ready to be made available for adoption at this time.

Officer Carter posed with the kitten after freeing him from the car engine.
