Kit is back with her family in Toormina, NSW Australia after an absence of ten years.  The lovely tabby was four years old when she disappeared from her home with Vicki Gentle, and was recently reunited with Vicki after she turned up in nearby Coffs Harbour, somewhat less than 10 miles away.

RSPCA NSW staff scanned Kit and discovered she was microchipped, then tracked Vicki down after a bit of detective work.

“She left me all those years ago, I had grieved for her and accepted that I wouldn’t see her again and then I got home to find a missed call on my phone,” Vicki said. “I called it back and it was the RSPCA shelter and they told me we have got your cat … I still can’t believe it.

“It was just meant to be, a whole lot of little things happened at the right time to bring us back together.”

Kit has also been reunited with her male littermate Buster, who still lives with Vicki.
