Los Angeles area cat rescue Cat Connection, located in Sherman Oaks, saved Demetri’s life when they took him in. The friendly 8 year old declawed cat was trapped in a bad situation that was going to end very badly for him if no one stepped in. Thanks to his rescuers, Demetri is doing well and passes his days in comfort with loving caretakers as he awaits his forever home.
Demetri was found living in a garage with eleven other cats. He was slowly being starved to death, only getting bits to eat from an inadequate food supply.
By the time Cat Connection got him he needed a blood transfusion, he was anemic, and he was in renal failure. The rescue organization didn’t think he would make it.
With veterinary care for his health issues, two weeks after arriving at Cat Connection Demetri was already making a big comeback.
He made a good recovery and responded well to life in a much improved environment.
Adrienne Hagen wrote on April 22: “This guy is a trooper. He came in, in renal failure. Look at him now [looking great]. IV’s , blood transfusion, phosphorous drugs and drug for his anemia have brought this wonderful boy back to life. His foster mom Linda Peskin has fed him so well, he has gained a pound and a half!! He is a lover of a cat. Gets along with other cats as well.”
Demetri is now a loving, friendly cat who gets along well with other cats and craves attention from people. Foster mom Linda Peskin says: “A true lover; not a mean bone in his body.”
Despite getting some media coverage in recent weeks, this loving fellow who has made a remarkable recovery is still listed at Petfinder as looking for a home.
