In May we shared the story of Snorri the Portland, Oregon kitty with a shoe fetish and a taste for petty thievery in our post Real-life cat burglar strikes Portland neighborhood.
Snorri is in the news again with a kitty-cam video showing his POV on a nighttime flip flop raid.
Snorri’e petmom Gabbie Hendel is shown above with a wheelbarrow load full of Snorrie’s loot. Gabbie keeps busy trying to return her cat’s ill gotten goods to their rightful owners.
Gabbie started a snorriethecat Instagram showcasing the stolen goods. Snorri poses proudly alongside his trophies in many of the photos. While the account was initially intended to help send the stolen goods back to their owners it also serves as a celebration of Snorrie’s dedication to his avocation.
The Oregonian did a story on Snorri Wednesday, where Gabbi says: “Most of the neighbors take it in stride. If there is something missing they usually ask us first. We had so many shoes that were unclaimed that I went around the block door-to-door last week with a wheelbarrow full.”
“There seems to be a divide with age: The younger neighbors follow his Instagram to get their stuff, but the older generation we have to find door-to-door.”
Gabbie told the Oregonian about one woman who reclaimed half a wheelbarrow load of shoes, adding: “The kicker is that she just made a pile on the porch and the same shoes started coming back the next night.”
A crowdfunding effort raised funds for the collar cam that Snorri wears in the video seen below.
