Chris Poole and his adopted black cat Cole, using scenes from Cole’s adorable kitten days, make the case for black cats as perfectly wonderful pets.

Chris writes:

“Unlucky black cats – Shelter works say they are the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized. COLE my rescued black cat is awesome! So I wanted to show everyone that black cats make great pets too!”

  1. I have two beautiful black kitties, Sofie and Rowan. Rowan is polydactyl and looks like she has thumbs. I love them so much! After watching this video, I want to go adopt another precious black kitten.

  2. have a black one. Her name is Saskia. they are soooo smart! she’s a girl. got her from animal house fund after they rescued her from a dumpster where she had just given birth. all her kits are adopted out as well. she is such a pretty smart girl…

  3. My husband and I rescued a black kitten that resembled this kitten ten years ago when he was five weeks old. He is so intelligent and has been the joy of our life. We love him so much!! Black cats are definitely very special in every way including being very affectionate! Love this video! Precious!!

  4. This is a fantastic video and it shows that black kitties are just as adorable as other colours.I have a black cat myself and love him to bits

  5. I have the honor of living with THREE black cats and love black cats. Over the years, I have had several cats of various colors, but my favorites are the black cats. Contrary to superstition, black cats DO NOT CAUSE bad luck….they HAVE bad luck. My black cats have had more injuries, surgeries, illnesses and catastrophes than all the other cats combined……Probably because they are more curious, smart and full of mischief than their siblings.
