A little stray kitten spent eleven hours frozen to a dock and has lived to share his tale.
“He had fell in the water and came up on the little piece of rock, just left of the steps and froze right there,” Roy Jasper told Lex18 News. The couple, Roy and his wife, Laurie, had seen the kitten via camera fall into the water down at the marina. Then he disappaered from sight reappearing some eleven hours later.
That’s when they contacted the Mercer County Sheriff Department for help. Sheriff Ernie Kelty came to the rescue, saying, “I poured the water on his front feet, and in a few seconds, they did come loose.”
Now the kitten, who has been dubbed “Ernie,” after his rescuer, has found a home with the Jaspers, inside, where it is safe and warm.
