February is Spay and Neuter Month, a great time to remind everyone to spay and neuter their pets to help them live longer and prevent pet over population.
Did you know that the best time to have your pet fixed is at age four months? Or that cats and dogs who are spayed are less likely to develop ovarian and testicular cancer. And pets who are spayed live longer! Spaying cats and dogs also prevents thousands of unwanted animals from being euthanized.
Cats have a nine-week gestation period. So kittens are being conceived right now, unless you “beat the heat” and have them spayed. Check out this link to Pet Smart Charities, which has helped spay and neuter more than 1.4 million pets.
Tell your friends, “Don’t let your critter have a litter.” Get them spayed and neutered.
