If you love cats, and we are betting you do, you may find The Infinite Cat Project to be of interest. It was created as a site all about one cat watching another. There are over 1800 cats in the infinite cat queue, the very first cat being Frankie. He was also the second cat.
Mike Stanfill shared that the story behind the website is, actually, quite short. Paul Hamilton posted a picture of Frankie, in front of a flower, on a computer forum. Another user added a photo of his cat “pondering the image with dark intent,” as Mike puts it. Thus, the Infinite Cat Project began.

The cats are called “infinauts,” and the site had a huge following from 2004-2006, but, as with many things, interest from the general public waned, a primary factor being the lack of inactivity. Mike admits that, for him, “it’s a hobby, with a little insanity mixed in. Plus I like cats,” and he views ICP as a work of art that is extremely personal. In short, he doesn’t want other people “schmucking it up.”
Here is an example of why this is so much fun:
#363 Ripley watching Angelina contemplating Reginald ogling…
#364 Kami scrutinizing Ripley watching Angelina contemplating…
#365 Gandalf noting Kami scrutinizing Ripley watching…
#366 Cinnamon ogling Gandalf noting Kami scrutinizing…
#367 Lilly contemplating Cinnamon ogling Gandalf noting…you get the point.

Along the way you will also discover some quotes, poems, and notes, but always, ALWAYS, pictures of cats looking at cats looking at cats and so on.
In addition to all the cats looking at cats which could be a little bit like trying to eat a single potato chip once you get started, there are sections featuring Cat Tales, Cat Games, Cat Health, and Cat Comics, so lots of great ways to get your cat fix.

As to Mike’s cats? Poozy is Infinaut #3 and Romeo is #1403. They are siblings, but apparently Romeo was more elusive when it came to being a part of ICP. Sadly, they both passed away within a month of one another in 2014 at the age of 15. However, their both being involved does seem to cement their place in cat infamy. Or cat infinity.
