A beautiful video traces the journey so far of TinyKittens’ miracle kitten Cassidy, who was living feral and scrounging an existence despite struggling to get around on stumps for back legs when he was rescued.
Cassidy was nearly starved and was in a bad way due to an accident and consequent infection when he was found in the woods as a tiny kitten in Langley, BC – a part of Vancouver – over the summer.
Cassidy had to have both back legs amputated as a result of his accident and infection, but he received such an outpouring of support he had three wheeled mobility carts provided for him by people touched by his story.
The wheeled carts helped Cassidy with his physical therapy and now he is getting around well on his own.
Cassidy’s story was widely shared, first through his appearance on the Tiny Kittens’ live kitten cam site and then as his story made the news, both at home in the US and internationally.
The video below, posted on October 21, follows Cassidy’s touching story from the time he was living rough and struggling to survive, to his first steps in his wheelchair and then – amazingly – to the point where he was able to run, walk and play on his own, with the wrapping on his stumps acting as prosthetic extensions to his limbs.
