A cop’s selfie with a rescued kitten posted to the Tampa Police Department Facebook page on Monday has gotten several thousand ‘likes’ and hundreds of positive comments.

Officer Brian Alofs smiles into the camera, which is turned a bit to the side to include a little kitten wrapped in a towel who occupies the passenger seat of the cruiser. The kitten was one of a litter of little strays reported to the police by a Tampa resident, and he has found a home with Officer Alofs.  The officers were unable to locate the rest of the litter, but rescued the one kitten they found.

The Tampa Police department wrote about the rescue at Facebook on September 29, saying: “A kitten is not what you expect to find in roadway, in 1700 block of E Columbus. Well, that’s exactly what officers A. Baranowski and B. Alofs found!!! This helpless kitten belonged to a stray liter nearby and was rescued by the two officers. One of the officers now found a new partner and a new pet!!!”

“Say hello to ‘Tango'” Officer Alofs wrote on the comment thread.

Other comments on the photo include: “Can I keep the officer and the kitten?” and “A hot dude with a kitten? Ladies, beware!”.

“I’m so glad those officers have such kind hearts! That is a true man in my opinion! So cute, both of them!” wrote another commenter.
