Due to an unfortunate “crushing” accident Lua lost the use of her back legs and the ability to control when she urinates and defecates.

Lua became trapped under an appliance and was injured when her former family tried to bring her out.

Thankfully, she was taken in by VOKRA (the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association), where she is making amazing progress at regaining the use of her hind legs through a combination of therapies, along with tender, loving care.

Not ones to give up on any cat or kitten, the wonderful people at VOKRA. are going to do everything they can to get back as much of her lost mobility as they possibly can. Lua is a very sweet and lovable kitten that is currently in foster care with a VOKRA member and continues to respond well to her treatments.

Lua’s caretakers are confident that, with lots of love and care, the adorable little girl will continue to improve and become a fabulous new family member in the right home.

This touching and informative video introduces us to Lua, follows her through some of her therapy treatments, and shows the progress she’s made in regaining the use of her hind legs.

  1. I had an Alaskan Malamute that had a back injury that left his back end paralyzed. He didn’t appear to be in pain, but still had feeling in his back end. We took him to a chiropractor/vet. Long story-short, he was able to walk & jog again. He didn’t recover 100%, but to anyone but us, no one probably could see that as he got around very well. Good luck with Lua! She seems to be making great progress.

  2. Thank you for that inspirational story Jennifer, we’re glad your puppy recovered well and we hope Lua does too.
