Kitten is Rescued from TV News Vehicle
A kitten in Salisbury, NC made the news yesterday after she climbed up and got stuck above the gas tank of a news vehicle belonging to WBTV’s news division.
WBTV anchor and reporter David Whisenant was driving his WBTV vehicle, a Ford Explorer, when he heard what sounded – and was – an animal calling out from somewhere in the car.
Joe Bost from Jerry’s Shell Station investigated and rescued the kitten, who was wedged on top on the vehicle’s gas tank. Bost placed the kitten in a headlight box and Whisenant took her to be checked out at Salisbury Animal Hospital.
The kitten was unharmed by her ordeal and was transferred to the Rowan County Animal Shelter.
Whisenant thinks that “News Cat” crawled up into the vehicle sometime Tuesday morning.
WBTV report on the story, as told by David Whisenant. The second video, further below, shows raw footage from the rescue.
