Please note the source. Fox news.
There is no such thing as human to dog or cat ,flu transmission .
If there was ,there would be a dog cat flu epidemic.
Also, most diseases do not affect both dogs and cats, let alone one caught from a human .
It’s why parvo only affects dogs, and distemper just cats .
    This is blatant lies .
This is a ploy ,paid for by the pharmaceutical companies,to scare pet owners into get the unnecessary flu vaccination .
Do not buy into this nonsense .

      ADMIN (Author)

      Hi Missy,
While this video report comes from Fox News, there have been several stories from a variety of media outlets citing the same reports that informed the Fox story. I admit not to have looked deeply into the story, and know that even widely reported stories can be without merit. This was the only video report on the story I found; the other were all print. That’s why I ran this particular version.

    Hi Admin
I don’t mean to come off harsh ,but im a staunch anti forced western med nonsense advocate .These are human issues ,used now against our pets .
Pets are our one weakness. People will not eat,so their animals will eat ,if money is tight .I know it ,because I do it .
They cunningly now use this ,to push us,to get vaccinated .
    It’s nonsense.
There is one ,alleged ,confirmed ,human to cat transmission,of H1N1 ,in iowa.
I personally ,do not believe it . It is just more of the same .

They have started pushing unnecessary meds on our animals ,and holistic vets ,are very aware of all of this.
I could expound for ages on this, and I’m passionate about it ,as I am a former western medical practitioner ,and I turned my back on it ,after 17 years, because of the direction its taken .
It’s just common sense. In all the times you’ve had the flu ,have any of your cats gotten it ?
I have a multi cat ,and bunny household .I am a 911 first responder . My lungs are very weak now ,so I get a flu,URI ,and in 2008 and 2011,pneumonia .
If transmission were so easy ,given how they all lay with me,to comfort me,when I am sick ,at least one would have gotten sick …in all these years .

I’ve never had a cat ,catch my flu, cold, anything ,and I get sick ,once a year .

I didn’t see the broadcast but I’m an ICU nurse and an huge animal lover. Bottom line is viruses such as the flu do not typically transmit from species to spicies. Bacteria on the other hand can. For example; your dog can get kennel cough that is either viral or bacterial. If its bacterial, you may transmit it; if it’s viral you won’t.
