Trash Man Rescues Abandoned Kittens
Robert Williams and his Hartford, CT public works department coworkers saved three little lives while making trash route this morning. Robert felt something moving inside a Nike shoe box and dropped the box, thinking there was a rat inside. He decided to investgate and opened the box, finding three kittens inside.
The kittens, determined to be about 4 weeks old, were taken to the New England Veterinary Center in Windsor, where staff say they are doing fine, though they will need to stay for a couple of weeks while being treated for respiratory conditions. The kittens will be available for adoption through Animal Friends of Connecticut in West Hartford in 2 to 3 weeks.

AWWW! Thank you so much Robert Williams and crew for saving these little guys! They are lovely!
Thank you Robert Williams & the Hartford Public Works for your kindness & compassion!! On the other hand how can anyone go to sleep at night knowing what they have done to these helpless little baby kitties or any animals – what kind of human being would do anything cruel.
I agree with Molly Juhas. What about the mother. If she has had her babies taken away whilst she is still suckling them, she could develop mastisis. A very painful and potentially fatal condition. Surely, someone must know something about these furbabies. Well done you guys for rescuing the kittens. You deserve a medal. xxx
