Two Heavy Cats Survive a Month Without Food After Elderly Owner's Death

Roly Poly and Pudding with kennel staffer Jane Worsley

Roly Poly and Pudding, as they are known now, survived for a month on their own without being fed after their elderly owner went into the hospital and never came home.  The two cats were finally discovered when a neighbor contacted police about the smell coming from their Walsall, West Midlands UK home.

The cats are thought by the RSPCA to have survived from living off of their excess bulk. They were near death but still hanging on when found, with each of the two, aged about 18 months and 3 years, still weighing over 20 pounds each.

Roly Poly and Pudding are in care at the Foxtwood Kennels cattery near Stoke and are recovered and ready to be adopted. Their caregivers hope they are adopted by a fitness and diet conscious person who will help them remain trim and fit. Those interested in adopting the pair should contact the RSPCA at 0300 123 4999.

AWWW! Poor kitties! So glad they were rescued in time! Too bad some neighbour didn’t know the lady owned cats when she went into the hospital.
Anyway, main thing is they were found and are well and happy again due to the great care and TLC! Hoping they find great ‘forever’ homes!

Oh Look At These DELICIOUS DARLINGS! It’s so tragic when owners die and animals are left to fend for themselves till discovered. They are beauties and sometimes “bulk” is a good thing! I’m so warmed that Roly Poly and Pudding are in kind and loving care at the shelter until they find homes( hopefully together)
Thank u for an amazing story!!! Suzi

I wonder how it was that no one knew the cats were left in the Apt.
