Ten tiny kittens found taped into a cardboard box marked FREE in Foxboro, MA, on a hot day were rescued and are helping Angelcat Haven, of Plainfield, spread the word about the importance of spay/neuter for pets, and the availability of low cost options.
Ten young kittens thought to comprise two or more litters were saved by a Good Samaritan in Foxboro MA on Sunday, when New England’s temperatures went well into the 80s and the sun blazed brightly for a change. Luckily, they were discovered before the tragic ending that could so easily have befallen them had the remained as they were for much longer. The Good Samaritan was out walking their dog when they discovered the trapped babies.
The kittens are now safely in the care of Angelcat Haven, in Plainfield, where they are recuperating from the effects of dehydration. Organization president Angela Frankudakis is taking the opportunity afforded by this rescue to appeal to the owners who dumped the kittens, as well as other pet owners, to please spay and neuter their pets before more babies suffer. She advises cash strapped pet owners to seek out and take advantage of low cost spay and neuter options, and directs local residents to visit the spay and neuter help and information page at Angelcat Haven’s website.
The kittens are being restored to health and evaluated, and will move on to foster homes when they are ready.
