Kiko is Found!
Missing posters and a keen eyed pet store employee helped bring a missing cat home. Kiko was gone for two weeks after a burglary home invasion.
A burglar invaded the York family’s home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the night of February 3 and made off with a wii, some credit cards and a few other items, leaving the front door propped open as he left. 10 year old Kiko, the family cat, was nowhere to be found afterward.
The story got some local news coverage and the family put up posters with Kiko’s description and characteristics, along with contact information. Nearly two weeks later a woman known publicly as Rose found Kiko in her backyard and returned him to his family. Rose is attuned to animals, so Kiko was fortunate to wander into her yard. She works at a Natural Pet store and had seen the missing cat posters and a local news item posted online. Kiko was not microchipped and did not have a collar and tags; it was fortunate he was spotted by someone who had been paying attention to the appeal for his return.

You know, that is one of my fears for my cats, that they would escape during a robbery, or be hurt. They do all wear collars and tags and are microchipped too, and that does make me rest a bit easier. Very fortunate kitty that someone so responsible found her.
